Red mittens are back! And they're just as warm and cozy as you remember.

The Canada Olympic Team and the Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) released the fifth edition of their now-iconic red mittens on Tuesday with a noticeable difference: they’re tri-coloured.

Now black, red, and white, the new mittens feature a maple leaf on the palms and the word “CAN” stitched on the outside. It’s a patriotic style choice HBC hopes will lead Canadian athletes to victory.

“We saw this as a great opportunity to inspire and motivate not only our athletes but all Canadians because we ‘can’ make it to the podium,” Jules Magner, VP of Brand Management, said in a statement.

According to HBC, more than 3 million pairs of red mittens were sold by the end of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and more than $22 million has been raised for Canadian athletes since.

“They’re a symbol of Canada, they show who we are, supporting our Olympians,” University of Toronto student Alex Ramanov said in a statement.

Team Canada red mittens will be available for sale at Hudson’s Bay, TheBay.com, and Home Outfitter stores.
