Man critical after being struck at Bathurst, Steeles

A 22-year-old is fighting for his life after he was struck by a car near Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West early Monday.

Police say the man was struck at about 1:30 a.m. while trying to cross Steeles. He was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital with head injuries. The driver of the car remained at the scene.

Steeles was closed to traffic while police investigated. The street was reopened just after 6:30 a.m..

Toronto police have wrapped up their on-scene investigation. There is no word yet on charges.
