A major construction project on West Georgia Street in downtown Vancouver is going to be affecting traffic for the next two months.

City officials say during the water main replacement project only two lanes will be open in each direction between Thurlow and Cardero Streets, and drivers are advised to use alternative routes when possible.

Construction is scheduled to wrap up by the end of November.

Access to businesses and residents will be maintained and sidewalks will remain open, but parking restrictions will be in effect throughout construction.
