TransLink spokesman Derek Zabel says all bus stops will remain open and, barring major traffic delays, buses will not be re-routed.
"We will have TransLink supervisors monitoring the situation and if the buses are running behind schedule, we will consider using alternate routes," said Zabel.
The 240, 241, 242, 246 and 247 buses that run between downtown and North Vancouver will be affected by the construction project, as will the 250, 251, 252, 253, 254 and 257 between downtown and West Vancouver. The 19 Metrotown bus also uses Georgia Street along its loop.
TransLink added that it does not plan to bolster SeaBus service during the water main construction delays that the City of Vancouver says will last at least until November.
