City investigates Jarry Park duck deaths

Fifteen ducks were found dead in Jarry Park this weekend, and the city is taking their deaths seriously.

The ducks weren’t found at the same time, but rather over the course of the day on Saturday.

Veterinarians are performing autopsies on the birds for the city because it’s unusual for so many of them to die in one location over such a short period of time.

Villeray Borough Mayor Anie Samson said she’s never seen anything like this happen before.

The 20 or so ducks at the park today appeared to be alive and well, as did the fish in the pond, so the city is ruling out water contamination.
