KELOWNA, B.C. - Mounties in the Okanagan city of Kelowna, B.C., say they are investigating the second case of an explosive device destroying a vehicle this year.

The latest incident occurred early on Aug. 30, when police noticed a plume of smoke coming from a local residence.

An officer investigated and found a Chevy Silverado in a driveway, fully engulfed in flames.

Neighbours heard a loud bang before the fire and police say an investigation determined a 'low order explosive with incendiary properties" caused the fire.

Police say they don't believe the incident was a random act of violence but have not yet determined a motive.

Mounties say they're still investigating a January incident, during which an explosive device destroyed another vehicle.
