Bonnie Lysyk, the province’s new auditor general, will release her report at the Ontario legislature at 3 p.m. on Oct. 8. She will discuss her findings with the media at a news conference.
Earlier this year, Jim McCarter, the preceding auditor general, reported on the cancellation of a similar gas plant in Mississauga, just ahead of the last provincial election.
That decision is estimated to have cost $275 million when all is said and done, tens of millions more than the provincial government had claimed.
Opposition parties have accused the governing Liberals of cancelling the Mississauga and Oakville plants to save legislative seats during the last election.Suggest a correction
