EDSON, Alta. - A prisoner who escaped nearly a month ago from an Alberta correctional centre is back in custody.

RCMP say Cody Joseph McIntosh, who is 29, was arrested without incident Wednesday in Edson on a Canada-wide warrant.

Police say McIntosh and a second inmate, Simon Erwin Cardinal, escaped from the Pe Sakastew Correctional Centre in Hobbema on Sept. 6.

Centre staff notified Mounties and arrest warrants were issued.
