Quebec provincial police are searching for a kidnapping suspect in a wooded area in Terrebonne, 30 kilometres north of Montreal.

The owner of a tanning salon in Terrebonne called police this morning when she found her business ransacked, according to Sûretédu Québec Sgt. Benoit Richard.

She told police that the employee working at the salon last night, a 21-year-old woman, was missing.

Police found the woman in a nearby wooded area at 12:30 p.m.

Richard said the woman is injured, although he could not provide any details of the extent of her injuries and whether she had been sexually assaulted.

The police force's canine squad is now scouring the woods in search of the suspect. Police believe the man could be armed.
