Some facts about Jamie Baillie, leader of Nova Scotia's Progressive Conservative party:

Age: 47

Education: Dalhousie University, bachelor of commerce; Canadian Securities Institute, chartered accountant.

Early years: Baillie grew up in Truro, N.S., and later worked as a chartered accountant.

Career: Senior partner at human resources consulting firm Robertson Surrette; vice-president of finance for CitiGroup Properties; chief of staff to former premier John Hamm; and president of Credit Union Atlantic.

Politics: Became leader of the party in August 2010. First elected to the legislature in an October 2010 byelection in the riding of Cumberland South.

Family: He lives with his wife and two daughters in Halifax. After he won the party leadership Baillie said he wouldn't uproot his family and move to his riding.
