Boundary Bay search underway for missing man

A search is underway on the waters of Boundary Bay near Delta, B.C., for a man who failed to return after setting out nearly two days ago in a small boat to check his crab traps.

The search began around 7:15 p.m. PT Tuesday after Cory Fergus, 43, was reported overdue by a friend.

Fergus reportedly set off in some sort of small boat from the Crescent Beach Marina around dinner time Monday. His friend raised the alarm the following day, after noticing he had not returned.

The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre says a hovercraft and Cormorant helicopter have been searching the area, along with a shore search of the area.
