Canadian notions of the Deep South, especially those who haven’t vacationed in Dixie, tend to take their cues from television show set below the Mason-Dixon line. Views of small town Georgia come courtesy of "Honey Boo Boo" and the Jon Voight classic, "Deliverance". "Duck Dynasty" and "Swamp People" offer windows into down home Louisiana living.

Those whose conception of the Carolinas are informed by HBO’s "Eastbound & Down" and TLC’s "Myrtle Manor", may think it’s a land of trailer parks and confederate flag emblazoned boogie boards.

South Carolina’s sash wearer at the last Miss America pageant reinforced long standing stereotypes in her intro quip that “20 percent of our homes are mobile, because that’s how we roll,” but the Carolinas have a lot more to offer than copious numbers of Dukes of Hazzard fanboys and doublewides.
