CHARLOTTETOWN - The Prince Edward Island government is seeking public opinion on land use policies.

The province says residents will have until Oct. 31 to participate in an online survey that covers issues such as water quality, preserving landscapes and protecting resource lands.

The responses will be gathered by a government task force.

The committee was established to develop recommendations for land use policies and their implementation in the province.

The government says there is currently no comprehensive provincial land use policy.

The task force is expected to submit its report in January.
