An 18-year-old man from Langley was stabbed in the back on Oct. 11 after arguing with a 16-year-old about a stolen bong, according to a Langley RCMP report.
Langley police were called to James Kennedy Elementary school twice in the same night, states the report. The first time was around 8:00 p.m. after receiving reports from residents that a group of kids had gathered. They dispersed when police arrived.
The second time, police arrived on the scene to find the Langley man who had allegedly been stabbed by a 16-year-old from Surrey. They were reportedly fighting over a bong that had been stolen over a week ago when the Surrey teen allegedly revealed a knife.
The Langley man allegedly punched the Surrey teenager in the head and was stabbed in the back. The rest of the group, after realizing what had happened, chased the young man with the knife, according to Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Marks in a news release on Tuesday.
Police arrested the Surrey teen and released him on the condition to appear at a later date in court. Police say they will recommend a charge of assault with a weapon to the Crown.
