Melissa McCarthy's Elle Cover Hides The Actress' Curves In Oversize Coat (PHOTO)

Melissa McCarthy's Magazine Cover Fails Women

Melissa McCarthy is a gorgeous woman with a beautiful figure but you wouldn't know it based on Elle magazine's November cover.

While we're sure the fashion mag will blame the wardrobe choices on the fall 2013 trends (oversize coats are in!), we can't understand why the editors would choose to hide the 43-year-old's body rather than celebrate it in a figure-flattering outfit.

Why not put McCarthy in a trendy '60s mod ensemble or deck her out in the print of the season, tartan? We would have loved to see the former "Gilmore Girls" star rock a menswear suit à la Sandra Bullock too.

Unfortunately, fashion magazines have a history of covering up "plus size" celebrities' bodies; consider the Vogue UK cover which just featured singer Adele's face, or the Elle cover that cut off actress' Gabby Sidibe's body from the waist down.

Elle may have honoured McCarthy as one of their "Women of Hollywood," but they did the actress and other curvy women of the world no favours by hiding her figure.
