Philippines Earthquake Swimming Pool Video Shows Violent Intensity Of 7.2-Magnitude Tremor

WATCH: Violent Intensity Of 7.2 Quake

The 7.2-magnitude earthquake that struck Bohol Island in the Philippines on Tuesday was so intense it caused water from an in-ground swimming pool to crash on to the deck in heavy waves.

In a recording of security camera footage uploaded to LiveLeak on Tuesday, the pool is seen shaking helplessly under the violent force of the quake, causing its contents to spill on to the deck and into nearby hot tub.

People are also seen hurrying away from the watery mess.

The clip has been viewed more than 180,000 times as of Thursday, though its authenticity and location of the pool remains unverified.

At least 161 earthquake-related deaths have been confirmed, according to CNN. Several historic buildings – including 16th and 17th century churches – near the quake’s epicentre in Carmen city have been damaged or reduced to rubble.
