Surrey boy, 16, arrested after bus driver punched

A Coast Mountain bus driver was treated for minor injuries after being punched by a passenger near Fraser Highway and 148th Street in Surrey, B.C.

Surrey RCMP said another bus passenger called 911 at 1 a.m. PT Sunday morning just after the assault happened.

The suspect had left the bus by the time police arrived, but a police dog was able to track him down.

The 16-year-old boy arrested was released into the custody of a parent, and charges are pending, police said.
