REGINA - Two Regina women have admitted to assaulting a little girl with a hammer, a frying pan, an extension cord and a high-heeled shoe.

The two women, ages 38 and 56, pleaded guilty on Monday to a handful of charges involving the physical and sexual abuse of two girls in Regina.

Forty-four charges were laid after a police investigation led authorities to believe that two women in a home had abused a 10-year-old girl and an 11-year-old girl who were living there.

The abuse took place between Jan. 1 and Jan. 18.

The women each pleaded guilty to sexual assault, making child pornography, assault causing bodily harm and several counts of assault.

The women cannot be identified to protect the identities of the girls and are set to be sentenced on Dec. 5.
