ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Newfoundland and Labrador's Liberals say more than 37,000 people are eligible to vote for their next leader.

Five people are running to lead the party, which serves as the Opposition in the province.

They are businessman Paul Antle, Liberal member Dwight Ball, businesswoman Cathy Bennett, Liberal member Jim Bennett and Danny Dumaresque, a former member and party president.

The Liberals revised their leadership selection process, allowing any resident of the province 14 years of age or older who is registered as a member or supporter to vote.

The party says 37,367 people are eligible to choose the next Liberal leader on Nov. 17.
