Sensible BC Bong Auction To Raise Campaign Funds (PHOTOS)

LOOK: Crazy Bong On The Block For Sensible BC

Sensible BC may be hard up for signatures, but one glassblower is auctioning off an innovative bong to ensure the campaign isn't short on cash.

Patrick Vrolyk of Penticton-based Redbeard Glass is placing an elaborate, 19-inch bong on the block in which marijuana users inhale smoke through pipes that spell "Sensible BC."

Vrolyk took two days to make the bong and his biggest worry in creating it was making a spelling mistake.

"I just made each individual hollow letter and them combined all the hollow letters, trying to think of how to get the smoke to travel through each letter, always thinking of function as well as design," he told The Huffington Post B.C.

The auction, which closes on Friday at 4:20 p.m. (of course), is asking for bids in $20 increments on the Redbeard Glass Facebook page. At writing, the highest bid was $720.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the campaign that is pushing for a referendum on decriminalizing marijuana, and Vrolyk has been told that lottery winner Bob Erb will match the winning bid.

Erb, a marijuana activist from Terrace, has already donated at least $200,000 to the campaign.
