22 Minutes Star Asks To Smoke Pot With Justin Trudeau (VIDEO)

WATCH: 'You're Not Going To Hotbox My Office'

Let's face it, throne speeches aren't exactly the most exciting things in the world.

But "22 Minutes" comedian Mark Critch came up with an idea last week to kick things up a notch.

Critch was in Ottawa for the big speech in the Senate and got some laughs from Tory cabinet minister Peter MacKay and NDP Leader Tom Mulcair.

But his exchange with Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau was downright hilarious.

Critch brought up Trudeau's admission this summer that he smoked marijuana since becoming an MP in 2008.

"I've never really been to a throne speech before, you've been to a lot of them. Jesus Justin, it's boring stuff," Critch said. "The question I wanted to ask you is where around here can a fella light up?"

Critch then took out what appears to be a joint.

"You're kidding," the Liberal leader said, laughing. "You didn't bring that to Parliament."

While Critch's stunt may have caught Trudeau by surprise, the Liberal leader didn't miss a beat.

"You’re not going to hotbox my office," Trudeau said, taking the lighter from the comedian.

"Oh, I thought you were the cool MP," Critch said.

This Hour Has 22 Minutes airs on CBC TV Tuesday nights at 8:30 p.m. Catch more clips of the show on Facebook and Twitter.
