The Bruins forward had just been levelled with a high neutral-zone hit by Buffalo Sabres tough guy John Scott.
With his team up 4-2 midway through the third period on Wednesday night, Eriksson was carrying the puck through the neutral zone and dumped it in to the Sabres' corner.
Cue Scott, who swooped across the ice along the red line and drilled Eriksson with what appeared to be an elbow to the winger's head.
The native of Gothenburg, Sweden did not return and Scott received five minutes and a game misconduct for his actions.
Scott escaped punishment after a pre-season melee with the Toronto Maple Leafs involving Phil Kessel but he may not get off this time, as NHL head disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan may want to take a closer look at the play.

What do you think? Does Scott deserve to be punished? Why or why not?
