Thieves reselling stolen gasoline in Metro Vancouver

Vancouver police are warning the public that thieves are buying gasoline with stolen credit cards, and then reselling it to people they know.

Yesterday, an unknown person called police after witnesses a white van filling up with an unusually large amount of gasoline at the Petro-Canada station at Oak and 41st streets in Vancouver.

Police later discovered that the vehicle was modified with a custom-made container that holds extra gasoline.

Police believe a van that burst into flames after crashing into a wall on October 7 contained gasoline bought with stolen credit cards.
