Hey, if you're going to go through all the work of decorating your office like a haunted house, you might as well show it off to all of your
friends frenemies in the press corps right? Toronto Mayor Rob Ford gave a tour of his very spoooky office to journalists on Monday.
“We thought we’d have some fun this year,” Ford said on the radio, adding that he was paying for the decorations out of his own pocket.
Ford has often had a prickly relationship to the press so it's good to see him in a playful mood.
Mayor Rob Ford cackles as he prepares to bring reporters inside his haunted house. "I got you right where I want you!"— Natalie Alcoba (@nataliealcoba) October 28, 2013
His brother, Councillor Doug Ford, even made a joke about an incident near Rob Ford's home with Toronto Star reporter Daniel Dale.
From outside the door, I hear Ford say, during his haunted house tour, "Ohhh, there's somebody in the bushes." Doug Ford: "DANIEL DALE."— Daniel Dale (@ddale8) October 28, 2013
The grand finale of the tour is Doug Ford "hiding in the bushes like Daniel Dale." He kindly posed for a photo for me.— Daniel Dale (@ddale8) October 28, 2013
I asked Doug if he remembered that he totally made up the thing about me hiding in the bushes. He laughed.— Daniel Dale (@ddale8) October 28, 2013
Now Magazine has video of the tour above.
And if you want to have some of these same hair-raising experiences, you can visit the mayor's office this week.
