Tiesto fans in Vancouver were left disappointed as flight delays kept one of the world's top DJ's from spinning the decks at the Pacific Coliseum on Sunday night.
The Dutch superstar was set to play Dooms Night, a two-night event put on by Solid Events Ltd. that also featured Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz. Tickets cost $120.
In a series of tweets, Tiesto explained that a three-hour flight delay by United Airlines kept him from making it to the city on time.
UPDATE: VancityBuzz reports that the show has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, and that it will be extended to a three-hour set. Day 2 tickets will be honoured, and the venue has not changed.
However there may be hope yet for fans who wanted to hear the DJ spin dance hits such as "Traffic" and "Adagio for Strings." Organizer Solid Events tweeted that they're working on setting a new date for Tiesto to play Vancouver.
The promoter also organized a quick concert at Bar None with free entry for all Dooms Night ticketholders.
This isn't the first time in recent memory that a major music artist has cancelled a Vancouver concert on short notice.
Kanye West cancelled a stop on the "Yeezus" tour at Rogers Arena on Oct. 20 just a few hours before showtime, postponing the event to Halloween night.
