TTC Video: Man Pushed Out Of Subway After Blocking Doorway

WATCH: What Can Happen If You Hold Up A Subway In Toronto

A Seneca student’s video of an unruly man holding up TTC passengers by blocking a subway door has gone viral.

The video – captioned ‘TORONTO PROBLEMS!’ – was uploaded to Facebook on Saturday and shows an unidentified man holding up a train at Davisville station, standing in the doorway, refusing to move.

“Get out of the doorway. Now,” someone is heard shouting in the video. Didn’t work.

When several attempts to close the door also failed to move the man, at the 1:19 mark in the video, a man in a red T-shirt decides to push him out of the way.

Brad Ross, head of communications for the TTC, told News 680 passengers should avoid getting into physical situations with passengers.

“We have the yellow alarm on subway trains for that very reason,” he explained.

Ross went on to stress patience in similar scenarios, tweeting “Police and transit officers trained to deal with these situations – wait for them to arrive.”

The video has since been shared over 3,000 times on Facebook as of Monday evening.
