Peter Mueller may be retired, but he just made $20 million.

The 68-year-old Revelstoke, B.C. resident won a Lotto 6/49 jackpot after his ticket matched all six winning numbers in the Oct. 30 draw, according to a press release.

“I have always hoped to win but never thought it would happen to me," Mueller said in the release. "I have seen people win on the news before though, so I knew it was possible."

He bought the winning ticket at Revelstoke's Malones Confectionery. On Wednesday, he heard on the radio that the winning ticket was in Revelstoke, so he drove straight to Village Green to find out if it was his.

"The clerk thought I was joking until she had seen the numbers for herself,” Mueller said. “She validated the ticket and confirmed the win before she could believe her eyes.”

Mueller's total winnings amount to $20,223,182.30.
