Although Paulina Gretzky has a Canadian hockey legend for a father, she insists she’s really an American girl.
“I know where my dad is from, and I know how much he means to Canada, but I’m American,” Maxim’s latest cover girl told the magazine.
Brantford, Ont.-born Wayne Gretzky and his American wife Janet Jones have five children, all born in the States, according to Global News.
Paulina, most famous for her scandalous Instagram pics, says she divides her time between Los Angeles and Florida, where her pro-golfer fiancé Dustin Johnson is based.
And what does Wayne think of her husband-to-be?
"My dad loves playing golf, so it's certainly a plus," Paulina said. "I've been playing golf since I was 12, but I'm more of the type to say, ‘I'll come watch for a bit,’ rather than wake up at dawn to hit the course. I'm still a huge hockey fan, and if I'm in a city where there's a game going on, you can count me in."
