Philippines Typhoon Haiyan 2013: How Canadians Can Make Donations

How Canadians Can Help

As the Philippines grapples with the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan, organizations are co-ordinating relief efforts.

Canada will provide as much as $5 million to humanitarian organizations aiding typhoon victims, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced Saturday. Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger said $100,000 would be provided on behalf of the province, the capital of which has a significant Filipino-Canadian community, according to Canadian Press.

Ottawa will also contribute one dollar to the Typhoon Haiyan Relief Fund for every dollar Canadians donate before Dec. 9.
