TORONTO - A City of Toronto spokeswoman says school trips to city hall are being relocated for several days due to the media circus surrounding embattled Mayor Rob Ford.

Jackie DeSouza says school trips to city hall for Monday and Tuesday have been relocated to the Toronto Archives due to "health concerns."

DeSouza says there are health and safety concerns because of the number of people and the level of activity at city hall.

She says no decision has been made about school trips beyond Monday and Tuesday.

A crush of media have been at city hall daily as council endeavours to get Ford to step aside following revelations of drug use and drinking.

Several reporters have been injured as they jockeyed for position for news conferences the mayors holds in the corridors of city hall.

"City Staff have informed me that planned school trips to City Hall are postponed until further notice because of an unsafe environment," Coun. Karen Stintz tweeted Thursday afternoon.
