Hot on the heels of Vancouver's Good Samaritan taxi driver, comes more welcome news: the city's cabs have been voted the best in Canada by an international annual Hotels.com survey.
Users voted on aspects such as safety, availability, quality of driving, and friendliness. There was also a "Lost & Found" section, detailing some of the most bizarre items ever left behind in taxis around the world: a prosthetic leg, a bird in a cage, and false teeth, to name a few.
Vancouver received a somewhat modest three per cent of the votes to tie for eighth place along with Las Vegas, Bangkok, Singapore, Bogota, and Mumbai. London snagged first place, with New York and Tokyo rounding out the top three. Vancouver is the only Canadian city to make the list.
