10 Things To Love AND Hate About Alberta Winters

Why Winter In Alberta Is The Best (But Also The Worst)

It's snowed in Alberta each weekend for the past four weekends.

Someone put us our of our misery, please.

These early snowfalls, starting in October, make Alberta winters feel pretty darn long. It's guaranteed the province will see snow for seven months this season (it usually snows at least once in April and sometimes into May and the summer months, depending on where in the province you are.) It can be kind of depressing, to be honest.

BUT (yes, there is a but), we have to remember what makes Alberta winters wonderful. With the bad comes the good and it's safe to say no Canadians are better at embracing what winter has to offer than the hardy folks of Alberta. It may be a love/hate relationship we have with the frosty season, but it's a relationship we can't imagine living without.

Check out some of the reasons why we loathe, and simultaneously love, winter in Alberta. If you have your own reasons, share them with us in the comments below!
