Things got tense on Monday at Toronto City Council as councillors debated a motion to strip embattled Mayor Rob Ford of even more of his key powers. Then things got weirder.
During debate, Mayor Ford got up from his seat in council and walked towards the gallery where members of the public can observe council. Ford and his brother, Councillor Doug Ford, taunted members of the public who were criticizing the mayor and posed for photos with supporters.

The exchanges between the Fords and members of the public derailed the council proceedings, and Speaker Frances Nunziata declared a ten-minute recess.
Shortly after, Rob Ford took off in a sudden sprint towards a group on the council floor, almost knocking over Councillor Pam McConnell. Ford caught the councillor before she fell to the ground, but appeared to continue moving forward towards someone else. Then Ford stops, and walks back to his brother Doug.
