Beaten Siberian husky safe in Chilliwack, B.C.

A young Siberian husky found seriously injured after he went missing from his Fraser Valley home is recovering, as volunteers install a new protective fence on the property.

The fence is being built by volunteers from Home Depot and the local community to help keep two-year-old Sabre safe, after the veterinarian who tended to him said he was likely attacked by a person, not an animal, while missing.

Sabre vanished from the house last Tuesday, but turned up the following day with broken bones on his paws and wrists, lacerations all over his body and a ruptured testicle.

He was taken to Cheam View Veterinary Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgeries for more than four hours.
