Woman seriously injured in two-alarm blaze

A two-alarm fire in the city's west end has sent one woman to hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The victim was pulled from the basement of a burning house on Sheridan Avenue by emergency crews. She had no life signs and was resuscitated on the scene before being taken to Toronto Western Hospital. She has since been transferred to Sunnybrook Hospital. 

Crews responded to the fire at about 2 a.m. The cause of the blaze is under investigation. The woman's name has not been released.
