City's ombudsman to reveal special investigation

Toronto's ombudsman will release information on a new special investigation this morning.

Fiona Crean is holding a news conference at 10 a.m. at city hall but has remained tight-lipped about the details.

CBC News has learned, however, that the investigation does not involve scandal-plagued Mayor Rob Ford.

The ombudsman looks into citizen's complaints about city government.

Crean recently looked into evictions of seniors by the Toronto Community Housing Corp., and the use of surveillance cameras on TTC Wheel-Trans vehicles.

It's up to city council to follow up on her recommendations.
