FREDERICTON - New Brunswick's Opposition Liberals say they would like to see the finance minister publish the expenses of members of the legislature every three months.

The proposal is one of several that the party says would increase accountability and transparency.

Another measure would put a $6,000 cap on donations that any individual or company could give to candidates seeking a seat in the legislature or leadership of a party.

The Liberals also want to increase the so-called cooling off period preventing a departing politician from securing a contract or other benefit from the government from one year to four years.

Liberal Leader Brian Gallant says the party plans to introduce legislation to implement the proposals.
