Tyrell Cody Sallis Charged In Death Of Grande Prairie Teen Killed In Crosswalk

GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. - Charges have been laid against a man arrested in the hit-and-run death of a teenage pedestrian in northwestern Alberta.

The charges come after Cassidy Dietrich was killed early last Saturday morning in Grande Prairie.

RCMP say the 16-year-old girl died in hospital after she was hit by a pickup truck.

Police later found an abandoned pickup believed to have been involved in the collision.

Mounties arrested a 22-year-old man from Wanham, Alta., on Tuesday and charged him with dangerous driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

Tyrell Cody Sallis has been released from custody and will appear in a Grande Prairie courtroom on Dec. 2.
