WINNIPEG - (Mba-Green-Leader)

The leader of Manitoba’s Green Party is stepping down.

James Beddome will now look into the law profession.

He says he will continue to support the Manitoba Greens in whatever way possible.

In the 2011 provincial election, Beddome made a strong push for a seat in the legislature, but came in second in the Wolseley riding.

He was beat out by Rob Altemeyer of the NDP.

An interim leader is expected to be named by Dec. 1.
