Avalanche centre issues season's first bulletins

The Canadian Avalanche Centre is issuing its first bulletins of the season this weekend.

According to the centre, the risk of an avalanche in the high alpine areas of certain regions is already considerably high.

The bulletin identifies the North Columbia and Cariboo mountains, the Monashee and Selkirk mountains, the South Columbia region and the Purcell mountains.

The risk of a slide in the South Coast, Sea to Sky and North Shore regions remains low.

Search and rescue volunteers in Vernon, B.C. have already been out to find one woman who was separated from her group while snowmobiling. The woman spent four hours alone before she was located.
