RICHMOND, B.C. - A 76-year-old driver is dead and another person was injured after a two-vehicle crash in Richmond, south of Vancouver.

The RCMP say the crash happened just before 7 p.m. on Saturday evening on Westminster Highway.

Police have released few details about what happened, other than to say the crash involved two vehicles at an intersection and speed appears to have been a factor.

A news release says the 76-year-old died at the scene.

The 36-year-old driver of the other vehicle was transported to hospital with minor injuries and later released.

Surrounding roads were closed for several hours as accident investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash.
