FREDERICTON - The New Brunswick government is looking for companies interested in the exploration and mining of potash.

Energy Minister Craig Leonard says his department is issuing a request for expressions of interest in acquiring potash rights.

Leonard says the province has areas of potential potash deposits that have yet to receive any substantial exploration.

PotashCorp already has a large potash mine near Sussex and recently completed a $2-billion expansion.
