Jeffrey Lyle Geary, Accused In Fas Gas Shooting, Fit To Stand Trial

RED DEER, - A psychiatric assessment has determined that the man accused of shooting a gas station clerk earlier this year is fit to stand trial.

Jeffrey Geary, 30, is facing numerous charges including attempted murder and appeared briefly in person in court in Red Deer, Alta., on Friday.

On Sept. 11, Jaysen Reyes, a clerk at the West Park Fas Gas, suffered injuries to his face and hand after being shot with a sawed off shotgun during a hold up.

Eric Ayotte, 29, is also charged in the incident. Both men remain in custody and will be back in court Dec. 18.
