Hockey Night opens with opera classic

The curtain rose on Hockey Night in Canada with Nessun Dorma on Saturday.

Luciano Pavarotti's powerful rendition of the piece headlined the opening montage before the puck dropped on the classic rivalry between Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens.

Nessun Dorma​, which was made most famous by the late operatic tenor, is an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot​.
