York police mourn 'unexpected' loss of injured constable

York Regional Police are mourning the loss of a 10-year veteran of the force who died a little over two weeks after breaking his leg during a training exercise.

Pegg was assigned to the Air Support Unit as a Tactical Flight Officer in June 2008.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, and police asked for the family's privacy "while they deal with this unexpected death."

Condolences left on the York Regional Police's Facebook page will be forwarded to the family.
