CUPE spokesman Nathan Allen said a tentative deal was reached late Monday afternoon following a bargaining session between CUPE local 523 and its employer.
No details of Monday's tentative agreement have been released.
The union members work at the Okanagan-Similkameen, Okanagan-Skaha and North Okanagan-Shuswap school districts, and CUPE spokesman Rob Hewitt had suggested job action could have started on Tuesday if negotiations failed.
Hewitt had also said a full-scale walkout was possible by Wednesday.
At issue was what the union believes is an attempt by the school districts to claw back long-term disability savings, though a spokesperson has denied those allegations. (CKOR, CKIZ)
