Only on Facebook could Disney theme parks and a German red light district find themselves among the same company. Yes, it's one of the highlights of Facebook's 2013 year in review, the social media network's annual collection of the most talked about topics, people and places.
The company crunched some numbers and found the 25 places that generated the most posts and check-ins during the last year. Aside from a global round-up, Facebook also has country-specific rankings and the results for the Great White North are as Canadian as a beaver dressed up as a Mountie serving poutine from the top of a maple tree.
Of the top 10 checked-in locations (not including transportation hubs like airports), six are arenas — each housing a Canadian NHL club. Leading the pack is British Columbia's Rogers Arena, home to the Vancouver Canucks, but also a host to big performers like Beyonce, Drake and Nine Inch Nails during the year.
Montreal's Bell Centre and Toronto's Air Canada Centre take second and third respectively, while the West Edmonton Mall and Niagara Falls add some tourism destinations into the mix.

Facebook's Most Checked-In Places For Canada 2013
The only other sporting/music venue to make Facebook's collection was London's O2 Arena. Germany's Reeperbahn, a stretch of clubs and home to Hamburg's red light district, also made the list for reasons and photos one can only hope weren't set to the public share settings.
