STRATFORD, Ont. - Stratford's culinary festival will be held next July to take advantage of the summer harvest of local produce.

The seventh edition of the Savour Stratford Perth County Culinary Festival is slated for the weekend of July 18-20, which is also at the height of the Stratford Festival theatre season, organizers said Monday in a statement.

In the past, the food event has been held at the end of September. The attendance at the most recent edition was between 25,000 and 30,000 people.

The culinary festival showcases producers, wineries and craft beer artisans along with the creativity of local chefs.

Celebrated national and international chefs, culinary authors, artisans and innovators also gather to share their expertise in a series of more than 30 talks, demonstrations and sampling venues.

The theme, program details and culinary guests will be announced in the new year.
