WestJet Christmas Miracle Bloopers May Be Better Than The Original

WestJet Christmas Stunt Bloopers Will Make Your Day

WestJet's "Christmas Miracle" video may come off as a slick, feel-good viral just in time for the holiday travel rush , but the airline's blooper reel suggests the stunt wasn't without a few hiccups.

On Sunday, the Calgary-based carrier put out three videos: one of unsuspecting passengers receiving presents at a luggage carousel at the Calgary International Airport, another of the airline's Richard Bartrem explaining how everything came together and, finally, a behind-the-scenes look at what Santa had to contend with.

Together, the videos make up the airline's annual campaign to spread some corporate Christmas cheer and fund-raise for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. The airline promises to fly needy families for free during the holidays after the video hits 200,000 views on YouTube.

Highlights of the bloopers include an awkward request for a big diamond ring, travellers wishing for socks and inquisitive travellers wondering why Old Saint Nick was decked out in blue instead of the traditional red coat.

His answer? Red is only for Christmas Eve so the airlines can see him "like a fire truck."
