Alison Redford, Raj Sherman Get Last Laugh On 22 Minutes Holiday Special (VIDEO)

WATCH: Alberta Gets The Last Laugh This Holiday Season

Move over, Santa – Alberta politicians are getting the last laugh this holiday season.

Alberta Premier Alison Redford and Alberta Liberal Leader Raj Sherman each made appearances on the CBC's This Hour Has 22 Minutes Holiday Special, poking some lighthearted fun at the province that employs them.

Redford, in lumberjack-style onesie pyjamas, curled up beside the fire in Lake Louise to share the newly- penned 'Twas The Night Before Alberta Christmas, which, of course, takes a jab at some of the usual suspects – Obama, Alberta beef, Nickelback and the province's vested interest in oil.

'Twas the night before Christmas, here in Lake Louise, I just cooked a 20 ounce steak, all for me.

The beers were nestled in the snowbank outside, I turned on the game: Flames, Canucks - it was tied!

The Flames were surging, but then from the attic there came a large crash and my screen turned to static.

I raced up the stairs, as any Albertan would do, found a hole in my roof and a big red Ski-Doo.

"Santa," I said, "you silly old koot, you knocked off my dish, now my satellite's oot!"

He rose to the height of his red velvet glory, then shuffled his boots and said, "Oh, geez, I'm sorry!"

We went down the stairs and I offered some suds, he gave a thumbs up and said, "Friggin' rights, bud!"

He found my old records and flipped through the stack, then he dropped the needle on some Nickelback.

Then Tegan and Sarah, Corb Lund and Rush, Paul Brandt, Sloan and Econoline Crush.

We line-danced, and hee-hawed and sang a duet. Then he passed me a present and said, "Gotta jet!"

I opened the gift, and what did I see? A note from Obama addressed right to me!

"Dear Alison," it read, "I think it's about time that I gave the green light to that Keystone pipeline."

I bolted to my roof and I yelled to the heavens, "Thanks, Santa, but we could have used this in twenty-eleven (2011.)"

But I'm still thrilled for the gift of some U.S. soil, because we sure need to move our Alberta oil (responsibly, mind you.)

And I heard Santa exclaim as the sled flew away, "Merry Christmas to all, take 'er easy now, eh?"

Alberta Liberal Leader Raj Sherman joined in the fun, too, travelling north to Fort McMurray, or, rather, "Canada's second-largest Newfoundland city," where thousands of Newfoundlanders work in the oil patch.

Sherman joined host Shaun Majumder, Fort McMurray mayor Melissa Blake and Tory MP Brian Jean, for the Newfoundland holiday tradition of mummering, donning rudimentary costumes, including Santa in a Sou'wester, and dropping by the homes of unsuspecting locals for an impromptu party.

According to This Hour Has 22 Minutes “Mummering is a tradition which involves a group of friends or family who dress in disguise and visit homes in their area over the Christmas holidays. If the mummers are welcomed into a house, they often do a variety of informal performances that may include dance, music, jokes or recitations." Judging by the video, it's fair to say there were a few shots of Screech put back, too.

This is not the first time the Canadian parody show has featured Alberta's leaders in their holiday special. Last year, Redford raised her glass to the oil and gas industry, poking fun at criticisms the Alberta government is in bed with Big Oil.
